FIRE SAFETY SERVICE/SALES TECHNICIAN

 

MONDAY TO FRIDAY - 37 HOURS PER WEEK

 

Salary  (negotiable) Dependant on qualification and experience plus

Nottinghamshire Fire Safety Limited is now seeking to recruit a field based Fire Safety Service/Sales Technician to report to the Mangaing director based in Mansfield, and work within the East Midlands areas.

 

You will need to possess previous work experience in a service environment (ideally field based) with basic mechanical engineering aptitude. Preference will be given to individuals who already have the knowledge of fire extinguishing servicing ie BAFE, FIA or IFEDA trained but training will be provided if required, also knowledge of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 would be advantageous. You will need to possess a valid Driving Licence and have the ability to undertake daily manual handling. Ideally you will have already gained some sales experience but you will certainly need to demonstrate excellent presentation & Communication skills, the self-motivation and resilience to achieve targets, a flexible attitude and a strong work ethic.

 

The role will entail visiting customer premises as required to service fire extinguishers to relevant British Standards whilst adhering to health & safety requirements and continually identifying and delivering further sales opportunities with these customers.

Other duties connected with the installation, maintenance and recovery of fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, fire blankets, health & safety signage, dry and wet riser testing and PAT testing.

 

You will ensure that all work meets company targets and that operating procedures are followed, utilising effective communication skills to identify and liaise with decision makers on site to obtain sign off for work undertaken and agreement to additional sales, planning activities, journeys, call outs etc to maximize service time and ensure cost efficiency and maintaining adequate van stocks/spares.

Along with experience of repair and maintenance of equipment, be concise with form completion, report writing and be I.T literate.

 

In view of the fact that the postholder will have contact with potentially vulnerable young adults, these posts will be subject to referral to The Disclosure and Barring Service DBS (Formerly CRB).
