Phil Kennell (General Manager)
Phil has over 30 years’ experience in fire safety, starting his career with Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service as a part time retained fire fighter in 1989. He was employed by a national fire safety company before joining NFRS on a full time basis within the Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Department in 1995, gaining his BAFE certificate in 1996. Phil was promoted to Manager of the department in 1999.
Phil’s uses his passion and enthusiasm to drive the company forward.
Keith Newton (Base Co-ordinator/Trainer)
Keith joined NFRS in 2007 with no previous experience in fire safety. He gained his BAFE certificate in 2008 and in 2011 became the company Fire Safety Trainer delivering Basic Fire Awareness and Fire Marshal Training.
Dave Ilett (Fire Extinguisher Technician)
Dave joined NFRS in 2003 from a field service/customer services background gaining his BAFE certificate in 2004. Dave provides fire extinguisher maintenance cover for the North of the county.
Jeff Munroe (Fire Extinguisher Technician)
Jeff joined NFRS in 2007 and, along with Keith, he gained his BAFE certificate in 2008. Coming with a background of electrical experience, Jeff provides fire extinguisher maintenance cover for the west of the county including Derbyshire.
Ben Storey (Fire Extinguisher Technician)
Ben came to NFRS in 2009 from a field service role in bar installations, experienced in pipe fitting and gas installations. He gained his BAFE certificate in 2010. Ben provides fire extinguisher maintenance cover for the Ashfield area and the City Centre.
Tony Evans (Fire Extinguisher Technician)
Tony joined the company in October 2017. Having worked previously for the Mines Rescue Service and gaining experience in Fire Extinguisher Maintenance gaining his BAFE Technician Accreditation in January 2018. Tony is also a Retained Fire Fighter based at Warsop Fire Station.
All technicians keep up their competencies attending refresher courses as required.
Julie Jones (Administrator)
Julie came to NFRS in 2006 with over 25 years of administrative experience. Initially Julie worked in the Commercial Training Unit before transferring to the Trading Company in 2010. Julie continues to provide full administrative support and looks after all bookings for the fire safety training courses.
