It is mandatory for all staff to receive adequate fire awareness training on an annual basis. This two-hour course can be conducted at your premises or venue of your choice for up to 12 members of staff.

The aim is to provide participants with an awareness and understanding of the threat posed by fire, your company’s fire procedures and the actions to be taken in the event of a fire.

A company certificate is awarded for this training, along with training notes for reference.

When a fire alarm sounds, people must be accounted for with ease and precision. This is critical during a real fire incident. It is therefore essential to have a tried-and-tested fire evacuation procedure for any building which allows everyone to be accounted for within an acceptable timescale.

The objective is to complete this process prior to the arrival of the emergency services, which in most cases will be between three and five minutes.

Nominating Fire Marshals to sweep-search areas is the best way of ensuring people are out of the building. Fire Marshals each have a specific area of responsibility to sweep during an emergency fire situation. They also have on-going responsibilities for ‘policing’ their respective areas in terms of fire safety, noting any breaches or problems and getting them actioned.

This half-day training course is for a maximum of 12 people. It can be conducted at a venue of your choice.

If you only have a few people to train, it would be more cost-effective for them to join one of our open half-day Fire Marshal courses, which run several times a month.  Please contact us for more details and course dates/venues.

We offer an on-line training tool which is simple to set-up, easy to administer and manage and extremely affordable.

This mode of training is suitable for all employees, even if they are not regular computer-users. The real benefits are that staff do not have to gather into groups and be taken out of the work environment to attend lengthy training sessions.

Training can be held when it is convenient and only takes an average 40 minutes to complete. Working through modules, training is measured with specific learning outcomes, culminating in the learner undertaking a short test, after which they can print off a one-year achievement certificate.

The best part is that training is measured throughout the learning, leaving the employer satisfied that staff are properly trained and have not just ‘attended’ a training course.

There is also a specific programme for staff in residential care/nursing homes which includes the procedures for horizontal-progressive evacuation.
